TED WILLIAMS, Boston Red Sox, GAME USED BAT Piece PHOTOMINT Display, Ltd to 350
This auction is for a Ted Williams Game-Used Bat display titled “Triple Crown” and commemorates his Triple Crown victories of 1942 and 1947. This display is from the Highland Mints Game Used Collection. Ted Williams used this particular bat as a Boston Red Sox between 1951 and 1955. The bat selected for this unique display was 35″ in length and weighed 34 ounces. The number “9” Ted’s uniform number is written in black on the end of the knob of the bat. The bat shows use with ball and rack marks throughout. This bat was originally obtained from Ted Williams himself. The Highland Mint acquired this bat on December 13, 2001, according to the Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the display. This unique collector’s item includes: Matted and Framed: custom laser cut red and black matting with glass panel and black wood frame. Measures approximately 16 x 18 inches. Game Used Bat: The Game Used Bat dates back to 1951-1955. It is a 35″ Louisville Slugger. The bat piece is sliced to about the thickness of a United States quarter. Most pieces will be the shape of a baseball field while other will be completely round. A 24kt Gold Medallion: 24kt gold plated Highland Mint Collection Medallion. Measures 1.5 in diameter. Two Certificates of Authenticity: One is numbered and matted on the front between the coin and the bat. The back of the Photomint will have a color photo of the bat before it was cut into sections.
